Dinner at the Castle!

The evening following the Chamber Music Festival, Gerhardt and Sybille Mueller-Schwefe invited the Rilling family along with Festival board members to a beautiful dinner at a renovated manor/castle in Goeppingen.  It was a beautiful fall evening and a perfect setting to celebrate the wonderful concerts of the past four days.  The following post is dedicated to my mother, aunt Mary Lou, and sisters, who would have appreciated the setting, presentation and beautiful foods.

Entrance to the castle courtyard...

A glimpse of the coat of arms...

The courtyard and tower...

A lovely greeting of the guests...

The coat of arms of the tower shows the way to the upper room and...

a sumptuous table to celebrate the conclusion of the Chamber Music Festival.

A quiet conversation between Helmuth and Felix Mueller-Schwefe.

A quick look at the menu!

Anticipation of what is to come -- guests clad in blue!

Gruess von der Kueche -- a small tower of mouth watering goodness!

One of the many incredible wines accompanying each course.

Goose liver parfait with wild figs and old balsamic vinegar!

Grilled, wild shrimp with pan-fried cauliflower and broccoli bits.

Satisfied guests awaiting the next course!

Hot, foamy pumkin - ginger soup, a fall specialty!

Monkfish steak on champagne leaks and tomato with black truffel and beurre rouge.

The main course:  salt meadow lamb with mushrooms and fregola sarda!

Serious consultation between father and son!

Sated guests after so many wonderful courses!

But wait -- there's more!  Crispy tartuffo with fruits and chocolate!

A short break from the festivities...

and the end of a lovely evening with family and friends.
