Since Friday afternoon I have experienced a wonderful re-entry into Germany through a warm weekend welcome at the Dols & Rocholls! They are close friends from my student years in Frankfurt. It was wonderful to reconnect with the family and to have time to relax, sleep, and study my music before leaving for Weimar.
Highlights of the week end were:
* staying in the beautiful and quiet Rocholl home
* leisurely meals with Teuto and Ilse Rocholl
* a cook out at the home of their daughter Annette
* swimming in the Rocholl pool (located in the basement of the house)
* late evening viewings of past Berlin Philharmonic concerts over a glass of red wine
* accompanying Annette to an Indian baptism feast with amazing food and beautiful people
Leisurely meals and chatty visits out on the terrace over Kaffee und Kuchen!
