Weimar - Week of August 10

As I begin my second week in Weimar, I have to thank my family, and especially my husband Patrick, for supporting me in my sabbatical sojourn.  It is such a luxury to have personal time to think, study, read, walk, and connect with life in a relaxed manner.  I love the international aspect of my work in Weimar -- watching the young people build relationships over food, music and during their free time before and after rehearsals.  But I also enjoy having time alone to reconnect to my former life in Germany.  I find myself walking into stores to look at foods or clothes and indulging in the small exchanges of daily life with local people.  Everyone has a story.  When I say that I am here with the Weimar Bach Academy, there is often some connection to music or singing, which someone will share.

This morning is free for the choir.  So I am off for a walking tour of Weimar and a visit to the Goethe Haus.  More to follow!

This is the weather forecast for the week:

Weimar Veather!
